IP address or Internet Protocol address is nothing but a unique identifier for any device connected to the internet or to a local network.
Have you thought once what happened when you are connected to the internet? chatting, browsing or streaming videos, well a lot are happening at the back of your computer and in the big network called internet.
Imagine you want to send a letter to someone and you expect to receive a reply what will you do? Well most importantly that your write the address to where you want to send this letter then your own address so you can get reply or get back you letter in case of delivery failed.
IP address is nothing but that address you put on the envelope to tell to where you sending and how to receive a reply.
Every bit of information leaving your computer/tablet/ phone are warped up with your IP address (that unique identifier of you on the internet AT THAT MOMENT), hmm “at that moment” yes because in normal cases every time you connect to the internet your internet provider will assign to you different IP address (dynamic IP) well! not always, I will explain later about (static IP).
Internet provider will assign IP address to any device that are connected to the internet so devices can communicate, when you go to your browser and type www.google.com in fact it is is getting translated to IP address (126.96.36.199) but normally you don’t see that. So when you type and search for anything, google will send this information to you using your IP address.
Now I will explain about dynamic and static IP address.
When you connect to the internet your service provider must assign and IP address, that IP address is not always reserved for you and every time you connect to the internet it is very rare if you get the same address twice, why is that?
